Moisturizing Lip Gloss
I made up this recipe in two tries! I was pretty proud of myself for that. Recently I made Homemade Lip Balm and it took three tries to get it how I liked. I think in general, lip balms and glosses are pretty forgiving. I originally had beeswax in this formula but I took it out because it made it too thick. I’ll be keeping it just for my lip balm.
This literally comes together in 2 minutes. Just get out the ingredients and mix together. The hardest part is getting it into the tube. I did not have a small funnel, nor did I put it in the recipe below. I will be ordering one to make it easier for next time.
Why it matters
Lip gloss can be filled with ingredients that you do not want absorbed into your skin. Making it at home can eliminate any unwanted ingredients or irritants that you do not want. I certainly like that I know exactly what’s in my lip gloss.
I’ve been using this formula for a week and I love the way it feels. I will say, I do feel like I need to reapply it more than drug store lip gloss. That doesn’t bother me though. It feels like my skin is really absorbing these good ingredients and I feel like my lips are way less cracked than before. Win-win.
