Homemade Ketchup is easy

Homemade Ketchup has been on my list of things to stop buying at the store. I’m going on over a year of making my own homemade mayonnaise. It allows you to control the ingredients and it takes out the middle man which is the manufacturing process.

It’s so empowering to make your own condiments at home. I’ve recently made relish as well, I just don’t have that recipe up yet. Sauerkraut is another simple condiment you can make at home!

This recipe is is a single serve recipe. I plan on making homemade ketchup this year and water bath canning it.

Water bath canning is an easy way to preserve lots of different types of foods and sauces. You cannot water bath can everything though. You do need to do your own research on what you can and can’t do. It can seem daunting but the more you do it, the more you get comfortable with it. I plan on using this method a lot more this year. Growing more and more from my garden will help. I might even be able to make homemade ketchup from my own tomatoes!

I’m either going to use this bottle or just keep it in a mason jar in the refrigerator. That way it will still be easy to squeeze out.
