Peppermint Mocha

Making a Peppermint Mocha at Home is easy and way cheaper than going to your local coffee shop. While I do love supporting small businesses with how many I got through these during the holiday season… it’s more cost effective to make them at home. Not to mention it’s satisfying to make it on your own. I also start drinking these on November 1st every year. I don’t care if you judge me.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. When November hits, it is on and we start doing holiday baking and crafts. Keep checking back for more of those this year.

First…

Let’s talk about what you need to make this Peppermint Mocha at Home. As far as equipment its simple. A coffee pot or single serve coffee maker will work! This is really not rocket science, it’s all about the ingredients you use I’ve found. Now please remember this is not a healthy drink. It’s filled with sugar and bad stuff for you. I am not recommending this to anyone trying to get healthy and be on a diet. This is simply a fun Christmas treat to have that you can make at home.

Here’s the ingredients:

Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Ground Coffee – This in my opinion is the key to it. I have not found another peppermint coffee that hits the spot like this one. There are plenty out there. I will say I have not tried other brands of peppermint mocha k-cups and I may be doing that this season, I will let you know if they compare!

White Chocolate Lindor Truffle – Yes that’s right, there is a truffle in this coffee. It has to be white chocolate too, I have tried milk chocolate truffles and dark chocolate truffles and it is not the same. The truffle brings a silkiness to the coffee that is just unbeatable, it’s amazing.

White Chocolate Creamer – I use the Starbucks brand but I feel you could use other brands as well. I have never tried a sweet cream or vanilla since I love the white chocolate so much but I feel this is somewhere where you could switch out that creamer. (I couldn’t link this, it’s in the refrigerated coffee creamer section at your local store! 😉)

Peppermint Whipped Cream – This is a seasonal ingredient so the second you see it you have to buy it! The tend to run out and then not restock. At least in the town I live it. I couldn’t link this, it’s in the refrigerated coffee creamer section at your local store! 😉 If this is not readily available at your store it’s easy to make an alternative. Grab some heavy whipping cream and use a hand mixer or whisk until it is the consistency you want. Add a couple drops of peppermint extract and your done!

Sprinkles – Of course, these are optional but what’s life without a little color?!

Now let’s make a Peppermint Mocha

To start… here are some of my favorite coffee mugs!

Let’s make it! It is so simple you will be wondering why you never made a Peppermint Mocha at Home before. First you are going to start with your truffle in your coffee cup. Then either pour or brew you coffee directly onto it to melt it. It will need some help by stirring it in to completely dissolve. Then, add your white chocolate coffee creamer (as much as you’d like). Then, add your peppermint whipped cream and sprinkles, your done!

Wasn’t that easy? I hope you try it. I have so many coffee mugs that I have fallen in love with over the years but I am really into glass right now. I love seeing the color through it. I’m putting my favorites below, I hope you love them as much as I do! If you’re here, I’m sure you love making things at home. Check out my blog on How to Start a Sourdough Starter.
