Utilizing the Benefits of Garlic
Having garlic in your pantry is an essential part to using garlic to its full benefits. I always have quite a few bulbs on hand and plan to plant my own this fall.
Roasting garlic is very easy to do. Whenever I am using the oven for a meal I always roast a couple bulbs to have in the fridge ready on hand to use. All you do is chop off the top and rub a little olive oil on it then cover with foil. It takes around 45 minutes to get it nice and soft how you want it. You will be so happy to have it around though!
A great way to enjoy this is slicing a piece of sourdough toast, toasting it and spreading the roasted garlic on top, drizzle some olive oil on it and place some thyme on it as well. It’s the best evening snack to enjoy out on a patio watching the sunset while dinner is simmering away.
