Fire Cider for the Fall season is a must for your immune system! It is chock full of beneficial ingredients for you and your loved ones. Thankfully, a lot of those items you probably already have on hand. Others you may have to search around for. In the end it’s worth it.

Fire Cider… What’s that?

Fire cider in simple terms is an apple cider vinegar drink with a generous collection of spices, fruits and vegetables to take daily as an immune booster during the cold and flu months. You can play with the combinations of ingredients to your liking. These are the ones I use and seem to work for me and my family the best. As always you know your body best, so listen to it or consult a doctor!

Ingredients & Benefits

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

I use to take ACV with lemon and warm water every morning. This year I will be taking it in my Fire Cider! I also use this in my digestion detox. If you think that would be something you’re interested in you can find that here.

Garlic

Garlic has been used for medicinal uses for centuries. It is an anti inflammatory, anti bacterial power house. There are too many benefits to count with garlic. Regulating blood pressure, blood sugar, reducing the risk of disease etc. It is one ingredient you definitely want in your Fire Cider.

Onion

Onion is in the same family as garlic! It has beneficial anti oxidants and anti inflammatory agents.

Cayenne Pepper

Known for its cardiovascular benefits along with a good source of nutrients. You might not think of cayenne pepper when it comes to digestion, but it does help. It also helps with congestion.

Jalapeno Pepper

I’ve seen a lot of Fire Cider recipes and Jalapeños are not always on them. I love to add them in for extra benefits! It is a natural pain reliever and also helps with fighting infections. This last season I needed this fire cider for all the body aches I was having, I’m thankful to have this Fire Cider this year!

Horseradish

This root is a powerful anti cancer and antioxidant rich agent. It’s very good for respiratory symptoms and sinus infections. If you’re like me, I never thought about horseradish for healing properties, only as a condiment for my Ribeye! I didn’t know Horseradish could be so versatile.

But wait, there’s more!

Ginger

Ginger is great for anti nausea, however it is also a helps with blood sugar management and digestion.

Lemon

Lemon is a great natural detoxifier. It helps open up the liver and flush out the bad toxins there. It is a heart healthy citrus as well. Lemons are very versatile throughout the body, like garlic.

Honey

Honey is an insane liquid. It is a wonderful addition to your Fire Cider! It is an antimicrobial. Make sure you buy it raw and local! If it is local it can help with a variety of benefits including seasonal allergies.

Rosemary

Rosemary is known for many benefits including helping hair growth, improved memory, and muscle pain. In my Fire Cider I use this for the circulatory benefits for heart health and immune system in the cold season.
