I started playing around trying to create my own Honey Mustard Sauce because I hate buying dressings from the store. They are always filled with seed oils and preservatives.
Why Seed Oils are bad for you:
- Seed oils are high in omega 6 fats that can lead to heart disease and inflammation in the body.
- They are highly refined which means they have been extremely processed which is depletes any benefit they would have.
- They are toxic when heated.
- They use chemicals to deoderize them.
These are not the only reasons, I could go on but that’s not really why you are here.
You can make more from Scratch.
The base of this sauce is mayonnaise. Guess what? I have a recipe for that too! One that does not use seed oils, tastes better and actually has benefits to your health. Check it out below and get that made so you can use your own mayo in this recipe!
It only takes a minute to make. It was one of the first things I started making at home from scratch because it was so quick. After I saw how easy that was, it made me want to do more.
I’m wanting to make more condiments from home in the next couple months. Let me know what I should start with below!
For this recipe, you most likely have everything for it already in the fridge or in the pantry. Besides making your own Better for You Homemade DIY Mayonnaise at Home I would also recommend getting some local honey from an area near you. It is much more beneficial to you that way I will link one from Northern California below, but if you live somewhere else you should try and get close to where you are.
I make this recipe in a one cup prep bowl. I simply whisk everything together and pop it in the fridge, its amazing!
