Why make Homemade Chocolate Syrup?

Well, in store bought chocolate syrup there are 8 ingredients. In Homemade Chocolate Syrup there is only 5. The best part? There are no preservatives.

Preservatives are put in chocolate syrup to make it last longer on the shelf. If you make it at home there is no need for that. Polysorbate 60 which is a common preservative can cause gastrointestinal issues, nausea, skin irritation and much more. Its first ingredient is also high fructose which can cause a lot of metabolic issues.

Enough of the health stuff.

Homemade Chocolate Syrup is just so good! Having kids has made me want to make sure even if they are having a treat it is made with good quality ingredients. So naturally this is something that should be in the fridge every once in a while.

Here are some other things that you can make from scratch to keep in the fridge!

There are many ways to store these sauces. I use a variety of different ways. Below are my favorite products for storing condiments in the fridge.

Now it’s your turn to make it to enjoy with your family! Pour it over ice cream, use it in chocolate milk, dip strawberries in it. Even dip Marshmallows in it! Whatever you like!
