Homemade Dishwasher Pods
This is an easy recipe to swap out chemicals in your dishwasher pods!

Equipment
- 1 Whisk
- 2 Silicone Ice cube trays This depends on the size of the wholes on the tray, mine were fairly small so I needed two trays. This could vary, just go with it!
Materials
- 1 Cup Washing Soda
- ½ Cup Baking Soda
- ¾ Cup Citric Acid
- ½ Cup Borax
- 2 Tbsp Water
- 20 Drops Essential Oils Optional
Instructions
- Add all dry ingredients to bowl and whisk together.
- Add water and mix, should be a sandy texture.
- Fill your ice cube molds and let sit 24-48 hours.
- To test one try and pop it out of the mold, if they pop out cleanly and easily, they are ready!
Notes
If you have continued cloudiness, try this:
Add vinegar as rinse aid, not in the pod.
If you have a salt compartment (not common in the US)
You can add dishwasher salt directly to that. DO NOT add it just anywhere to your dishwasher if you live in the U.S.
