I’ve had this Apple Cake Recipe since I was a kid.
My parents have an apple tree that produces quite a bit of apples every year. I always knew fall season was upon us when my mom started making this recipe. It smells up the house like a crisp fall day. Now, I get to make these for my kids and it brings back all the memories.
I’m all for any recipe that has fruit in it, especially if I can get the fruit for my parents. Even if I couldn’t, there are so many apple orchards around that you can go get some fresh apples from. Its such a special time of year.
Making this recipe:
Before we start – you can also use jumbo muffin tins and make these into muffins. I use these for so many recipes, they are worth it! My other favorite recipes to use this with are chocolate banana muffins and coffee cake muffins. Both are other great recipes if you are looking for more muffins to make!
This apple cake recipe is easy, but it does take some time. The first thing is you get the apples prepped and mix them with 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar. You leave this alone for an hour and that creates a slurry. This will keep the cake soft and moist. This is also what makes it taste like and apple pie cake. Do not skip this step, it is definitely worth it! This apple cake recipe is unmatched in flavor from any other ones I have tried.

This recipe is great to make with fresh apples right off the tree!
