If you’re on a journey to start making your own salad dressings sauces or condiments at home on your own, you came to the right place. This year my goal is to start making all condiments from home. For the last two years I’ve been making our own mayonnaise, but after I learned that, I didn’t. Seems silly since it was so easy. So this year is my goal to make them from scratch at home. First one up homemade ranch dressing.

My husband and I love this recipe for pizza and salad. You can also make this thicker and use it as a dip for veggies or some sourdough crackers or pita bread. My kids aren’t huge fans of ranch yet. However I’m sure as they get older they will enjoy it as much as we do. So for me it’s important.

This recipe is a simple as mixing together the herbs and spices and whatever base you’re going to use. I typically use her mixture of mayonnaise (my homemade mayonnaise of course!) and sour cream. However, you can also use plain Greek yogurt and an extra protein. I would suggest making this an hour before using just because the flavors will go through. If I’m really thinking ahead, I’ll make it the day before. This is one of those dressings that the longer it sits the more flavor you get out of it. I use these mason jars for this particular recipe.

My goal is to grow all my own herbs and spices for this. Then, I can dehydrate them and use them for this mixture. I do currently have my own parsley, but I do not have my own chives. I have started working on it but currently do not have enough for it to be all my own.
